This is another lesson that I found..can't remember where...But I think it is such a fun way to teach perspective. The shock on the student’s faces when I said that they had to imagine that I was going to push them off a tall building was priceless!!
We started with a LARGE sheet of paper...A3 is what we used
Students traced hands facing outward, towards the top of the paper. Friends helped each other.
They then, put papers on the ground, and traced their feet facing outward slightly towards the bottom of the paper. **they LOVED this part! **
They drew an oval/circle for the head slightly above the hands (in the middle)...added details to the face, hair, etc...to make it look like them
Then, added a neck. I showed them how to attach the arms to the hands, and the pants to the feet. The arms and legs get larger as they get closer to the tracings of hands and feet.
We then, talked about the perspective in it..how things in front are larger and how they seem smaller in the distance.

Outlined with sharpies, they coloured in using colour pencils and then cut their figure out to stick it on another paper and used pastels to work on the background.
